Job (Dis)satisfaction

Seriously. Why is it so fucking hard to get what you need at some places? I need a fucking keyboard. A simple, USB keyboard. That's all. Nothing insane. What do I get? Nothing. I get, "You need to fill out a Capital Acquisition form and request the laptop docking station with keyboard and mouse--they cost around $300. Thank you. Have a nice day."

A. I don't want a docking station. They're huge. Plus, it's one more thing to disconnect when I have to go work at home.

B. This laptop weighs well over 20 pounds. Its keyboard is too high in the air. I asked for a laptop. They give me a desktop with a monitor. It's huge. This, somehow, is a compromise.

Okay...so...no keyboard...no help...

"How about I request a $2,000 Macbook Pro?"

"Sorry. Won't happen."

"Why not?"

"We just won't."

"Other people have Macs."

"They're not PCs."

"Of course they're not...that's the whole fucking point."

"Man, you're argumentative today."

How about you take the $2,000 out of the $30,000 you're saving on my salary and just go buy the fucking thing? Man, I should have said that.

"Wait, didn't you just get a laptop?"

"Yeah, and it's one that I didn't want. I wanted something I could easily take home. I told people over and over that this computer is too heavy, it's not portable, and it's not what I want."

"But it took me like 5 hours to rebuild that for you."

Remind me again why I still work here and put up with the constant bullshit?

Oh, that's right...you're too spineless to do anything about it.
